Mr. Menuhin is a pianist who combines an assured technique and crystalline tone with unfailingly lyrical instincts. His playing was exemplary, exquisitely polished, yet directly expressive.
The New York Times
He is admirably serious in intent and execution; he has no traffic with anything resembling superficial mannerism. His fingers are fleet and sure, his tone is crisp and deftly motivated, and his sense of Beethoven style is cultivated, intelligent and unfailingly musical. Menuhin has a lively sense of color and rhythm, and his fingers are obedient no matter what the task.
Los Angeles Times
His reading was beautifully controlled by intelligent pacing and musical phrasing. Technically effortless, all his interpretative intentions were directed towards finely graded shades of dynamics, and his most sensitive touch created pearls of beautiful moments. It was a thoroughly enjoyable experience.
The Jerusalem Post
The autumnal melancholy of Brahms, op. 118 no 2, was most touchingly realised. Awareness of subtle tone shading was an evocative plus in his Debussy too. A brightly lit L'Isle Joyeuse, colours shimmering, was projected with crystal clarity.
The Guardian
Jeremy Menuhin enthusiastically shares his joy of music and steers the listener on a voyage of discovery. He possesses the essential qualities of a maestro - being throughout sensitive and discreet. A combination of refinement and contained fervour dominates his playing.
Figaro
Nothing is more difficult for a pianist than to let his piano sing in long flowing lines. The piano is a percussion instrument and real legato is impossible. Jeremy Menuhin let the piano sing as if it were a string instrument. Mozart KV 576 was a jewel of classical grace under his hands. Schubert's Ninth Sonata D 958 was presented here as a song-cycle, with all the variations of mood and theme.
Der Tagesspiegel
Bach French Suite No 5: There was an irresistible 'joie de vivre' in the quicker movements and a stately serenity elsewhere; and while his feet touched the ground, his spirit soared - ideal Bach playing showing the composer's visionary scope in the least pretentious form. Schubert op. posth. in c-minor: here, too, Menuhin saw to the heart of the music, catching its uncanny headlong impetus.

Der Bund
For this concert it was possible to obtain Jeremy Menuhin, a real attraction for the public. His technical brilliance delighted the audience and caused their hearts to beat faster. Under the direction of their permanent conductor, Russell Harris, the orchestra performed confidently but colourlessly. However, Jeremy Menuhin interpreted the Adagio in an astonishingly deep-reaching manner. The smallest melodic detail was given great attention, and the entire work was woven into a meaningful whole.

Gerhard Franz / Engadiner Post
Fritz Wintterlin / Badische Zeitung Kultur Offenburg/Lahr
Würdiges Gedenken an Menuhin
